TATA started in South Africa in 1997 with small volumes as an introduction into, selling a 4 ton truck, the 713 - and 2 ton truck, the 509. This only took a few years to launch us into the company we are today, selling trucks of substance and durability, and importing more models just as sturdy and robust yet with really competitive pricing. The original 713 remains one of the company's mainstay products, joined now by an improved 2-tonner, namely the 407, decreasing life cycle running cost.

The range now consists of the 709 3 -ton, LPTA 713 4x4, 18 and 32 seater buses and a model we are extremely proud of, the 1518 8-ton truck. In the extra heavy duty category we are represented with numerous vehicles called the NOVUS range.

We now have dealer network of over 35 full dealers as well as 9 services dealers and due to our phenomenal growth, expect to have 40 dealerships by mid-2006.

TATA is now not only a powerful force and major player in SA trucking market, but we have the dealership network to back our products fully throughout SA. TATA is also topping the scales in the market share industry and gaining a reputation of an excellent product at a respectable price. Although the NOVUS range was only launched in march 2005, it has in this short time made serious inroads into this trucking environment
